Microfilm Conversion To Pdf

How To Perform Successful Microfilm Conversion To Pdf

Microfiche used to be the primary method of storing and accessing large amounts of reference material before mass storage peripherals and personal computers became popular.  Microfiche is a large piece of film which can hold thousands of data pieces which are captured and reduced optically to microscopic size.  This data is then organized in columns and rows on the film and can only be read by a microfiche reader.

The microfiche reader enlarges the data by magnifying it optically when the microfiche film is put into the reader.    Microfilm which is the film used to store the data can be converted to pdf files by scanning the data into photo editing software and converting it into a pdf format.  Microfilm Conversion To Pdf ensures the data is saved and also reduces space since pdf files are digital and do not require as much storage space as microfiche to store.

To perform a Microfilm Conversion To Pdf format, it recommended that a flatbed scanner with at least a 7, 200 dpi or greater be used for scanning the microfiche.   A photo editing software must be installed that recognizes the scanner and this application should be open during the scanning process.  The resolution of the image properties in the photo editing software should be at least 6, 400 dpi or greater with a bit depth of 48 bits.

Open the PDF capture and conversion utility and leave it open.  Place the microfiche face down on the scanner glass.  Position the microfiche correctly and close the scanner lid.
Start the scanner. The image of the microfiche will appear in the photo editing software once the scan is completed successfully.  Save the item as a bitmap (.bmp) or a jpeg (.jpg) file.

No matter if your order is large or small, we are sure to make your work life much more efficient once you are able to refer to your documents digitally.

We Guarantee Quality Service At The Best Possible Prices.
